Sharif Robles is compassionate, jovial and charismatic. But don’t let that fool you- he is one of the most gifted karate instructors you will ever find. He has the skill sets of a champion, is an established leader, and has the ability to foster your innate talents and build character.

With depth of understanding the old traditions and presence, Mr. Robles creates an authentic Budo learning atmosphere that you love to come back to.  Never will you find ridged, stale or menacing classes that leave you bored or horrified.  Trust is a must in all of his student/teacher relationships and from there, albeit challenging,  your potential unfolds.

Community is important to Mr. Robles. He not only creates opportunity for you to get to know your classmates, he remains an active community participant both locally and on a National Level and leads by example.

Mr. Robles is authorized and licensed to teach Koei-Kan Karate-Do in Washington State through the National Leadership of Koei-Kan Karate-Do and is the Washington State Representative for  Koei-Kan Karate-Do.

Mr. Robles is well known and respected among his peers and leaders in the Koei-Kan Karate-Do System. A Bogu (full- contact) Champion and host to several National Koei-Kan Karate-Do Events including a rare 2006 National Tour of the Master, Eizo Onishi Kancho, founder of the system.

Honored to have the guidance from  his teacher, Shihan Jack Sabat*,  Mr. Robles believes that with continual study and training you can develop the highest levels of self-confidence, self-reliance and inner-strength, while cultivating the time honored study of Koei-Kan Karate-Do.

National Senior Instructor

*Jack M. Sabat entered his martial arts practice in 1967  and continues to train, instruct and promote his art with stalwart stamina, enthusiasm and vision. He holds the grade of Shichidan (7th degree Black Belt) and is a National Leader and the Director of the West Coast Division in the Koei-Kan Karate-Do System.

Mr. Sabat began his Koei-Kan Karate-Do study in Michigan with his teacher, U.S. Director and Technical Instructor, O’Sensei Brian Frost. A master motivator, innovator and eloquent speaker, Mr. Sabat weaves Budo philosophy, strategy and physical skill throughout his teaching with intensive, challenging and sprit lifting training sessions. He resides in Santa Barbara, Ca. and holds an annual austerity training camp in the Santa Ynez mountains called Bushi Shugyo.
